USDA Extends Free Lunch Eligibility for Camden

USDA Extends Free Lunch Eligibility for Camden
Lunch Plate

Upon request of Camden County Schools and the Georgia Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has agreed to extend the waiver to provide free meals on a time limited basis for all students in Camden County Schools based on the impact of Hurricane Irma on our community.  A waiver for Camden County Schools from the USDA allows our school nutrition program to serve all meals at no cost to students and to claim those meals at the free reimbursement rate from the USDA.

All students in Camden County Schools, regardless of parental income, will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch from the Camden County Schools Nutrition Department through Friday, October 20, 2017. Students will not scan ID cards or enter PIN numbers for any lunches served during the waiver period but they will still need to pass through the cashier station at lunchtime to be counted as a sale.

If there are any questions regarding this waiver, you may contact the Camden County Schools Nutrition Department at 912-729-5687.
