The Camden County Board of Education has voted to approve an extension of Superintendent Dr. Tracolya Green’s contract through June 2029. The extension reflects the Board's confidence in her guidance, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to the community's families.
The contract extension comes on the heels of major district-wide academic successes and stable growth over the last three years. A primary indicator of this ongoing success is the system's exceptional performance on the state's College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). The district consistently outperformed state averages across elementary, middle, and high school grade bands, maintaining its historic pattern of surpassing state benchmarks across all core assessment components. Out of 20 state assessments, 8 ranked in the top 10% statewide, 12 in the top 15%, and 19 placed in the top 20% of all Georgia school systems. Camden County Schools ranked 15th out of 165 school systems across Georgia for SAT performance, placing the district safely within the top 9% statewide. This academic excellence is further highlighted by a record-breaking 96.18% four-year graduation rate for the Class of 2025, outperforming the Georgia state average of 87.2% by nearly 9 percentage points. The district was ranked #12 out of 176 school districts in Georgia by Niche (#6 among county-specific systems) and secured a prestigious 5-star rating from School Digger, ranking 14th out of 206 districts statewide. Camden County Schools ranks in the top 5% of all school districts in Georgia for fiscal responsibility and academic excellence earning a 4.5 Financial Efficiency Star Rating (FESR) from the Georgia Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. Only 15 school districts across the state scored higher than Camden County in this rigorous evaluation.
Board Chairperson Jonathon Blount noted that Dr. Green continues to lead the district with an exceptional blend of vision and heart as an advocate for educators and students. He emphasized that the Board remains eager to maintain this momentum and build upon the profound academic and fiscal milestones achieved under her direction.
Dr. Green, a proud 2001 graduate of Camden County High School, assumed the role of superintendent in 2023. Her extended leadership guarantees stability for the district as it progresses into the late 2020s. Dr. Green expressed gratitude to the School Board for their continuous trust, noting that the achievements of the district belong to the collective efforts of administrative leaders, teachers, staff, students, and families.
